Easter Weekend

Before I tell you anything about our weekend, I have to tell you this:  a few weeks ago I won my very first giveaway from Cake Dreams.  I decided to put it to good use for Wesley's birthday.  For my chocolate loving husband, we got a chocolate-chocolate chip cake with Oreo Cookies N' Cream filling and chocolate butter cream icing.  That was THE BEST chocolate cake I have ever had.  EVER. Hands down.  Sally truly is the best, and if you live in Raleigh, you should definitely go get you some!!

Friday, we packed up the Highlander and made the trek down to Charlotte.  We had a huge, delicious lunch on Saturday at The Honeycutts, played games, had that fabulous birthday cake, and even had an Easter Egg Hunt. The girls got trampled by the boys in Pictionary.  I'm pretty sure they conspired against us.  I want a re-match with a newer version.  We kept getting words like tuning fork and oven pipe.  What the heck is an oven pipeOh, and I learned that our new favorite game is spelled N-U-R-T-S.  Our little niece Maddi was definitely the cutest one there!

We spent Easter Sunday with my family.  Easter Sunday is definitely my favorite Sunday.  I love hearing the talks at church about the gift of the Atonement, and the messages of hope, forgiveness, and love.
For Easter lunch, Mom and I had our traditional Easter favorite...lamb! Yum!! Wesley was treated to more birthday cake...this time red velvet cupcakes from SAS. We spent a lazy afternoon teaching my family how to play nurts and watching The Hobbit.  All of Wesley's patience finally paid off.  I've been averting him from buying it over the last month since I knew my sister was getting it for him for his birthday.  It flew by way too fast, but all in all, we had a great weekend.
I hope you did too!
